Booking and appointment availability for healthcare providers now in Google Search results

Hema Budaraju, Head of Google Health and Social Impact, recently announced that residents and visitors to the United States will see the availability of some healthcare providers and will be able to book directly from Google Search. For now, it seems to be limited to CVS’s private pilot, Minute Clinic, but Google hopes to extend this to other providers in the future. “You can see the appointments and times available for doctors in your area,” Google wrote.

Google said it is working with partners, including CVS’s Minute Clinic and many other scheduling solution providers. She added that Google wants to expand its capabilities, features, and partner networks to make it easier for people to get the care they need.

A few months ago.

A few months ago, Google enabled a feature to help you find a healthcare provider that covers you. So, this is the next step in Google’s journey to support healthcare professionals.

Why Google cares.

Ultimately, Google will open these options to all healthcare providers. If you or your customers benefit from this option, we recommend that you integrate these booking and insurance options as soon as possible. If you are using the Clinic’s scheduling or booking services, you can contact ETA to find out when they will be integrated with Google Search. We will update this feature as it extends to other providers and solutions. This will increase the number of patients visits to doctors.
